This is the time of year that Western Massachusetts, also known as The Berkshires gets to showcase its offerings for lovers. Besides the myriad of romantic inns and unique restaurants, you can while away your day taking in culture, scenery and just having fun… here are some ideas. And, this year Lenox and participating businesses including The Birchwood Inn, are offering a special incentive! Find out more here.
Taking in Culture:
The Berkshires has so much to offer in the way of art museums, theaters and Music. A day at The Clark or Mass MOCA is the most relaxing way to re-connect with that special person and lose yourselves in the world of art and culture. See our website for a list of venues.
Make a day of visiting the plethora of antique stores in the area, you can hop from one town to another and find that special piece that will forever remind you of this Valentine’s Day. Spending the day mooching around antique stores is an absolute luxury that a normal schedule would not allow for.
There are trails to suit all levels of hikers. With the Appalachian Trail on our doorstep you can do something more adventurous like hiking up Mount Greylock or something a little more sedate such as Kennedy Park in Lenox. If it’s snowing, both the Arcadian Shop and Notchview are great launching points for your adventure. Don’t forget an after-hike hot chocolate at Lenox’s world renowned Chocolatier, Chocolate Springs.
Check out the many options for massages, facials and yoga, or have a massage onsite at the Birchwood Inn (by appointment only for guests).
Finish off your play date with a meal at one of the Berkshire’s unique restaurants. We are always willing to make recommendations, but you need to reserve early to avoid disappointment. See our website for a list of restaurants.
